Victorian Tetrised House

An exhibition to explore how neighbourhoods are changing and how future urban development is reshaping everyday housing.

The project focuses on Victorian terraced houses, using their layered extensions as a lens through which to examine ongoing architectural transformation.

Through this work, we invite people to interact with the installation and reflect on the often-unseen design decisions embedded in familiar domestic architecture. Victorian terraced houses are a vital part of the UK’s cultural heritage and urban memory, yet they continue to be adapted to meet contemporary needs.

The exhibition questions how these homes can evolve without losing their character. As pressures for space and modern living increase, we ask whether sensitive design can preserve the identity and soul of these houses - or whether continual alteration risks erasing what makes them meaningful in the first place.
